Illegal Immigrant MS-13 Member Faces Deportation

An illegal immigrant MS-13 member with a previous felony conviction in the U.S. was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and is expected to be deported.

Hector Flamenco, 41, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador was arrested in Long Island, New York, where the MS-13 gang has taken root, specifically in regions like Brentwood.

Flamenco has been living in the U.S. since 1996, with a felony conviction for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams of cocaine. For that case, Flamenco was given 121 months in a U.S. prison.

“Flamenco, a member of the violent street gang known as MS-13, has been pushing drugs on our streets with no regard to law enforcement or the community in which he lived,” said Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New York, Angel Melendez said in a statement.

Field Office Director for ICE’s deportation efforts, Thomas Decker said in a statement that ICE would continue “to arrest any MS-13 gang associates who can face removal from the United States.”

Flamenco is now in the process of being deported back to El Salvador.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions most recently visited Long Island where he said once again his mission at the Department of Justice (DOJ) is to eradicate MS-13 from the U.S.

“The MS-13 motto is kill, rape and control,” Sessions said. “I have a message to the gangs that are targeting our young people: We are targeting you. We are coming after you.”
