In March 2009, to announce his new foreign policy toward Iran, which was supposed to be a change from the policies of President George W. Bush, President Barack Obama sent a video message for the Persian New Year to the leaders and people of Iran.
The newly elected Obama said, “The United States wants the Islamic Republic of Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations. You have that right, but it comes with real responsibilities.”
Today, March 3, 2015, six years later, before a joint session of Congress, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, using Obama’s own words, astutely pointed out the results of President Obama’s actions saying, “At a time when many hope Iran will join the community of nations, Iran is busy gobbling up the nations.”
