Trump: ‘I Would Certainly Implement’ a Database to Track Muslims

Thursday in Newton, IA, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told NBC News he “would certainly implement” a database to track Muslims in the United States.

When asked if there should be a Muslim database, Trump said, “There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems. And today you can do it. But right now we have to have a border. We have to have strength. We have to have a wall. We can not let whats happening to this country happen anymore.”

When asked if his White House would implement such a database Trump said, “I would certainly implement that. Absolutely”

When asked what that would do Trump said, “It would stop people from coming in illegally. We have to stop people from coming into our country illegally.”

When asked how he would get the Muslims to register Trump said, “It would be just good management. You have to do is good management procedures, and we can do that.”

When asked if he would go to mosques to sign people up Trump said, “Different places, you sign them up in different places It’s all about management. Our country has no management.”

When asked whether Muslims would be legally obligated to sign into the database, Trump responded, “They have to be legal — they have to be. The key is people could come into the country but they have to come legally.”

When asked to explain how the database would be different from Jewish people registering in Nazi Germany Trump said, “You tell me.”
