Tuesday on CNN’s “The Lead” with host Jake Tapper Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) who said Sunday the Obama administration is “one step behind’ on the border crisis today slammed the president by urging him to maker the time after his Texas fundraisers to visit the border.
“I said that is because this just didn’t happen last month,” Cuellar said. “It started happening since last year, maybe before that. The administration knew this was blowing up. I wished he would make the time to come up here. If he wants to do the fund-raisers first then after that stop by the border, it’s not too far away. I think it will be good for him to put a face to it. again, he looks like he dug in, not wanting to come and not going by what the critics are saying. that’s up to the president. I would encourage him to come down to the border.”
