Donald Trump pledged to protect hunting and fishing in an ad released September 18. The Republican candidate for president observed that these pastimes are among America’s greatest traditions and pledged to protect them, along with the Second Amendment, as President of the United States.
The ad–titled #Heartland4Trump–opens with Donald Trump Jr. talking about hunting and how the left’s war on guns shows itself in its efforts to stifle hunting.
Trump Jr. talks about discussions he has had with hunters through the years who say they love hunting but they do not like getting “political” over the issue. He says he used to think that same way before realizing that if hunters refuse to speak up–if they refuse to be active for the candidates who support hunting–then the entire sport is at risk. He said, “If you don’t start being vocal, if you don’t show up and vote your conscience on these things, it’s going to be gone.”
He stressed that the left’s “hobby is getting rid of your freedoms,” so “hunters have to be vocal, they have to get out there, they have to make their voices heard.”
Trump Jr.’s comments are followed by Benghazi survivor Mark Geist–who talks about the importance of traditional American values and the need to elect Donald Trump so that those values will be defended. Sheriff David Clarke, Ted Nugent, and television personalities Michael Waddell, Tiffany Lakosky, Ronnie ‘Cuz’ Strickland, Julie Kreuter, and others follow Geist, stressing Trump’s commitment to America and its values–including hunting, conserving the beauty of the land, and protecting the Second Amendment so the vulnerable are less vulnerable.
At the the end of the commercial, Trump looks viewers in the eye and says:
I’m so happy and thrilled to have the support of America’s sportsmen and sportswomen. Hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities are favorite pastimes across America, passed down from generation to generation. Just incredible. Law-abiding gun owners across this nation are at risk. Political correctness, Hillary Clinton, and Washington insiders are trying to take away our Second Amendment rights–and they’re really trying hard, like never ever before. That’s wrong, and it won’t happen when I’m president.
I will protect your rights, I will protect your Second Amendment, and you can trust me 100%. Together, we will make America secure again and we will make America great again.
