An armed robbery suspect fled from an Indianapolis, Indiana, furniture store after his would-be victim, the store owner, pulled a .40 caliber handgun and pointed it at him.
Surveillance video caught images of the suspect walking the store owner, Doyle Stinson, to the back of the business while pointing a gun at his head. Stinson, who can be seen calmly walking toward the rear of the store, told Fox 59 that the suspect messed up by taking him back there.
Stinson said, “Once he gets me back to the back room that was a mistake. I go back here, I hit my silent alarm emergency button.” Moreover, Stinson kept his handgun in the rear of the store, and he grabbed that once suspect marched him back there.
Stinson spun around, gun in hand, and the suspect began to run.
He had a shot on the suspect but did not take it because he worried about hitting a child on the sidewalk outside the business. He described the seeing a boy outside the front window, then said, “If you’re shooting a .40 caliber, it’s going to go through him, through this merchandise, through that window, and what’s beyond that window. …That’s true, that’s a little boy there.”
The suspect allegedly fled in a Chevy Trailblazer with an “In God We Trust” license plate.
