Rob Lowe Dings Bernie Sanders for ‘Hectoring and Yelling’ at Us While Threatening to Raise Our Taxes

During Monday night’s CNN Democratic town hall at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, actor Rob Lowe took issue with the tone of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who promised to raise taxes for his “Medicare for All” and other entitlement programs.

Sanders, who according to Politico never held steady employment prior to his life in public office, pledged to raise taxes for all if he becomes president, not just the wealthy.

“We will raise taxes. Yes, we will,” Sanders said, adding that Wall Street bankers “have to start paying their fair share in taxes.”

Lowe, who played Deputy White House Communications Director Sam Seaborn for four seasons on NBC’s The West Wing, tweeted Sanders’ “hectoring and yelling at me WHILE he’s saying he’s going to raise our taxes. Interesting way to communicate.”

Lowe was then asked by NPR reporter Jessica Taylor, “Would Sam Seaborn approve?”

He responded:

In response to a person’s tweet that was later deleted, Lowe wrote, “Dude. I’ve been happily paying taxes since I was 15 years old. How ’bout you?”

He then left Sanders with a bit of Seaborn wisdom on raising taxes:

A number Sanders supporters attacked Lowe for being skeptical of the Vermont socialist:
