Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong put a spin on the band’s 2004 song “American Idiot,” using the altered lyrics to attack Donald Trump during a performance Sunday night at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards.

“Can you hear the sound of hysteria?” Armstrong bellowed to the crowd, remixing the song’s lyrics from “subliminal mind-f*ck America” to “subliminal mind-Trump America.”

The Berkeley, California-based band also took home the Global Icon Award.

During the acceptance speech, Armstrong told the Rotterdam, Netherlands crowd that “It’s really nice to be in Europe right now.”

“It’s especially nice to be in Holland,” Armstrong said. “But most of all, it’s nice to be out of America just for a second because of this horrendous election that’s going on right now. Our entire country is about to have one big collective heart attack.”

Sunday night wasn’t the first time Green Day came out against the Republican nominee.

In August, Armstrong blasted Trump’s supporters in an interview with Kerrang! magazine.

“The worst problem I see about Trump is who his followers are,” Armstrong told the magazine. “I actually feel bad for them, because they’re poor, working-class people who can’t get a leg up. They’re pissed off and he’s preyed on their anger. He just said, ‘You have no options and I’m the only one, and I’m going to take care of it myself.’ I mean, that’s f*cking Hitler, man!”

Green Day released its 12th studio album, Revolution Radio, on October 7.
