ObamaMedia In Tizzy Today Over Romney Surge

The media’s confused, unfocused, and distracted today. Obviously, the journOlist talking points did not go out.

Part of the media’s confusion is over a Narrative holding pattern naturally created by tonight’s debate. But there’s no question the media is a little freaked by a number of new polls showing real movement towards Romney nationally.

Gallup has had Romney above 50 for six days now, Rasmussen has Romney up two, and all the other polls show — and I am saying this with great caution — that the race might be breaking Romney’s way. We’re also seeing slow but sure movement in the swing states, as well. RCP averages in CO, NH, NC, and FL have Romney in the lead. Meanwhile, Obama’s leads have fallen in OH and IA.

Other than trying not to actually *gulp* on the air, the media really has no idea what to do. Other than the silliness of “binders” and “Romnesia,” Team Obama has no message. This means the ObamaMedia has no talking points to work off of and their lack of focus today proves it.

Enjoy it while it lasts. We have a long way to go and the debate could have meaning over the next 14 days.
