HOUSTON, Texas — A rider on a bright yellow motorcycle is trying to bait police officers in Harris County, Texas by kicking the side of patrol cars and driving off, reaching speeds of up to 170 m.p.h. Harris County Constables are hoping that the cyclist is recognized and someone turns him in to authorities. County officials report that the man has done this on several occasions.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office has released a police dashcam video of the cyclist trying to bait an officer and engaging in extremely reckless behavior.  The video can be seen in a Click2Houston News report of the incident here.

The video shows the motorcycle rider pulling up to a red light on the left-hand side of the screen. The cyclist kicked the patrol car door and sped off through a red light. The deputy begins to chase the man but calls off the chase because of the high speeds reached.

Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman told Click2 Houston News, “We are not going to engage him in a pursuit, although it is very clear that he is trying to bait us into one.  He is popping wheelies and stuff in front of the patrol cars.”

Herman said the motorcyclist even turned around and came back at the officer, at which time he was clocked going 170 m.p.h.

The Harris County Constable said, “Traveling that fast, it’s just a matter of time before some innocent family is going to be traveling down the road and pull out in front of this guy. The speeds are just totally too dangerous to be on our public roadways.”

If the motorcyclist is caught, he will face felony evading charges.

Officials are asking for help in identifying this individual.
