Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Chuck Todd, moderator of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” reacted to the announcement that Republican presidential candidates Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Gov. John Kasich were forming an alliance to take down party front-runner Donald Trump was late.

According to Todd, if they had done it earlier, it might have made a difference in tonight’s GOP primary contests.

“It would have been a great idea six weeks ago,” Todd said. “Because, six weeks ago know what we would be talking about today? Could John Kasich win in Connecticut? It would be a good John Kasich night. If they cut the deal then. Look, and the Kasich campaign was desperate to cut the deal then. There’s no doubt about it.”
