GOP Rep Mike Rogers on Anonymous NY Times Oped: ‘I Have No Doubt It’s an Obama Holdover’

On Thursday’s broadcast of Huntsville, AL’s Newstalk 770 AM/92.5 FM WVNN’s “The Dale Jackson Show,” Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) offered his theory on the controversial New York Times op-ed in which an anonymous White House official was very critical of President Donald Trump.

Rogers speculated the anonymous individual was an Obama holdover given many of the appointees Trump has sought to have confirmed remain unconfirmed by the U.S. Senate.

“He’s an Obama holdover,” Rogers said. “There’s tons of those folks still populated in the administration that we can’t get the Senate confirmations done to replace them. So no, I have no doubt it’s an Obama holdover.

On the anonymous author’s claim of being a Republican, Rogers theorized it was done to lend credibility to the piece.

“I think they offered themselves that phrase just to give them credibility,” he added.
