CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin on Monday reacted to Kirstjen Nielsen resigning from her position as Department of Homeland Security secretary.
According to Toobin, Nielsen “is a great example” of President Donald Trump being “the great reputation killer” because the former DHS secretary will forever be known for
“Kirstjen Nielsen is a great example of what happens when you go to work for Donald Trump,” Toobin said on “New Day. “He’s the great reputation killer.”
He explained, “Here is a woman who was a reasonably admired bureaucrat. For the rest of her life, people will look at her and think, ‘Oh, that’s the woman who put children in cages, that’s the woman who broke up families across the border — and you know what, they’ll be right.”
Toobin then said Nielsen “is going to get what she deserves.”
