A set of Chicago area twins are both serving prison terms after being convicted in separate murders.

Dominic Connerly, 27, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted in the fatal shooting of a man from the northern Chicago suburb of Evanston, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Connerly pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder after prosecutors offered to drop charges of first-degree murder in exchange.

Prosecutors charged that Connerly helped plan the 2013 shooting of Floyd Gibert as part of a gang retaliation. It was also revealed that the convict was already on probation during the crime.

Connerly could have been sentenced to 30 years based on his record.

With the sentence, Dominic now joins his twin brother, Darien, who is serving a 35-year sentence for the murder of another Evanston man.

Darien Connerly was convicted in 2011 of shooting cabdriver Leodis Blackburn whom he was trying to rob.
