Two Armed Bandits Allegedly Fled with $270,000 from Queens Aqueduct Racetrack

Two gun-toting bandits allegedly fled with more than $270,000 in an armed robbery at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York, on Saturday evening.

The New York Daily News reported that two security guards and a worker were transporting $270,000 worth of cash from the first floor to the second floor of the race track when the armed bandits wearing surgical masks allegedly forced the employees into a room around 10:58 p.m.

The men then approached the employees and allegedly took out their guns, WPIX reported.

No injuries were reported, but police said the mask-wearing bandits took the victims’ cell phones and the money.

The suspects have not yet been caught.

Police have been swarming the racetrack since early Sunday night, reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses, the New York Post reported.

The Aqueduct in the South Ozone Park neighborhood of Queens is the only racetrack in New York City and shares the same address as the Resorts World Casino.
