Actor Matt Damon didn’t want to duck the ice bucket challenge, the viral video-friendly stunt raising millions for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease)

Damon works on behalf of bringing clean drinking water to developing nations via Water.org, the group he co-founded. The notion of wasting gallons of clean water, the kind too many people don’t have access to, left him conflicted.

So he came up with a unique solution. He completed the challenge using toilet water taken from his own home.
