Jim Carrey is flying to Ireland to attend the funeral of his now deceased former girlfriend, Cathriona White, The Daily Mail reports.

White, 30, was found dead of a suspected suicide in her Sherman Oaks home last Monday, five days after Carrey had ended their relationship.

The comedian, 53, has reportedly been in touch with White’s family, and they want him to attend the funeral.

“Jim has been left devastated after the tragic death of Cathriona,” a source told the Sunday People. “Attending her funeral in Ireland will be the least he could do to pay tribute to the woman he loved.”

TMZ reports police found a suicide note with Carrey’s name written in it next to White’s body, and three prescription pill bottles made out to an alias the comedian uses.

Law enforcement officials confirmed to TMZ that all three prescriptions were written by the same doctor for Carrey under an alias.

A witness claimed White may have taken the drugs from Carrey’s house, and authorities may want to question the comedian.

Carrey was spotted at his former girlfriend’s house Wednesday, where he spoke with her sister, Lisa, and later left with a stack of boxes.

E! reported Friday Carrey has also offered financial assistance to White’s family.

“He is paying for her body to be flown back to Ireland and is putting up her family at a hotel in Los Angeles. He is shocked and devastated. He loved her very much. He wants to do whatever he can to help them through this difficult time,” a source told the site.
