Pamela Anderson has announced she’s been cured of Hepatitis C after undergoing an expensive medical treatment she began three months ago.

The 48-year-old former “Baywatch” star shared the news on her Instagram page over the weekend by posting a nude photograph of herself.

“I am CURED!!! – I just found out #nomorehepc #thankyou #blessed #family #prayer #live,” wrote Anderson. “I pray anyone living with Hep C can qualify or afford treatment. It will be more available soon. I know the treatment is hard to get still.”

Anderson was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2001, and she told CNN’s Larry King in July 2002 that she had caught the disease from sharing a tattoo needle with ex-husband, Tommy Lee.

Reps for Lee have denied the allegations.

Hepatitis C is a viral infection of the liver that can lead to cirrhosis, cancer, liver failure, and death if left untreated.

The former Playboy model told People magazine in August that she had recently been approved for a three-month drug-combo to treat the disease.

“Even though I may have looked confident on the outside, I think it really was a dark cloud that lingered over me,” she told the magazine, via the Los Angeles Times.

According to the Times, the virus can be eliminated in more than 90% of those who take the drug-combo over a three-month period.

The treatment costs around $75,000 to $100,000 per patient.
