Aussie Cops Issue Nickelback Wanted Poster for Crimes Against Music

Police in Australia have issued a wanted poster for the rock band Nickelback on the day the group was due to perform at a concert in the country. The Queensland Police media team tweeted out the poster warning members of the public the group were “wanted for crimes against music”.

Whilst Nickelback enjoy a huge following they are also widely derided, to the extent that they can solicit very negative responses in the countries they tour. Last year Craig Mandell from London launched a crowd funding project to stop the band playing in the UK.

He claimed he had been inspired by a group that had encouraged the Foo Fighters to play in their town by raising the money to pay them. Instead Mr Mandell said he would use the money raised to work to prevent Nickelback ever coming to London again.

At the time Mandell told CBC: “With your help, we can ensure that the band do not schedule any gigs here, do not attempt to come here – nor even phone here. Just imagine, thousands – perhaps tens of thousands of music lovers – all not witnessing an exclusive concert by Nickelback in London”

He continued: “It will be glorious. Legendary. Dare we say, game changing?”

Nickelback are a four piece group from Canada, consisting: Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, Mike Kroeger, and Ryan Vikedal. They have not yet commented on the wanted poster, but they rarely respond to these sorts of criticisms.
