TEL AVIV – The thawing of relations between Israel and the Arab world is a “historical necessity” born of the mutual threat posed by Iran, Syrian opposition activist Issam Zeitoun told Breitbart News.

“This alliance between Israel and the Arab countries is a historical necessity right now, imposed by the brutal assault of this enemy [Iran], which threatens both of us,” Zeitoun said.

He also called on European nations to follow the U.S.’s lead and cancel the nuclear agreement with Iran, which, he said, seeks to conquer Europe as part of its hegemonic project.

According to Zeitoun, Iran is not only the biggest threat to regional peace, it is the biggest threat to international peace, and European states that say otherwise are only fooling themselves.

“Iran is deceiving the world,” he said.

“Europe is also a target of the Iranian project,” Zeitoun said. “Maybe not in this stage but certainly after controlling the Islamic world and the oil.”

“Europe should feel the danger and follow the U.S. by cancelling the agreement,” Zeitoun added.

He compared Europe’s attitude toward Iran to that of an onlooker observing a Persian carpet-maker at work.

“It can take five years for him to make a carpet and if you look at it you will have no idea what it is — what kind of picture it will have,” he said.

However, Zeitoun explained, just like the Persian carpet-maker has a vision in his head of what his final product will look like from the very moment he begins to weave, so too Iran’s ayatollahs have a vision of what the world will look like once the regime exports its revolution everywhere.

Saudi Arabia, in particular, is a formidable opponent of Iran, he added. “Iran would never dare to attack Saudi Arabia because if it does it risks uniting 1.5 billion Muslims against it.”

The same cannot be said for Israel, which Iran would wipe out in a second, Zeitoun said, even if it means killing the Palestinians Iran ostensibly supports by funding terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah.

Through its terror proxy Hezbollah, Iran is surrounding Israel with tens of thousands of missiles. “The regime [figures] that even if Israel were to destroy 99% of Iran, they could still rebuild Iran; but Israel, on the other hand, would be completely destroyed.”

In the wide-ranging interview with Breitbart News, Zeitoun chastised Israel for being too easy on the Palestinians regarding the so-called “pay-for-slay” scheme as well as slamming the Arab and Muslim world for twisting religion to incite against Jews and Israel.
