Britain’s ancient connection to Christianity is fading fast as Muslims have emigrated to Britain in droves. The 2011 census reveals that Christianity is plummeting 50% faster than had been thought previously. Within ten years only a minority in Britain will call themselves Christians.

Almost one in every ten Britons under 25 is now a Muslim.

Although last year the 2011 census was estimated to show the number of English and Welsh citizens who said they were Christians fell by 10%, or 4.1 million, that figure counted the 1.2 foreign born Christians who had emigrated to Britain. There were, in reality, 5.3 less British Christians, a decline or 15%.

In the same time period, Muslims in England and Wales grew 75%, which included 600,000 more foreign-born Muslims.
