Assad Has 1,000 Tons of Chemical Weapons

A leaked French intelligence report reveals that President Bashar Assad of Syria has more than 1,000 tons of poison gas stockpiled. Additionally, both U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and British Chancellor George Osborne confirmed the presence of sarin nerve gas in the aftermath of attacks in Damascus.

Kerry said samples of hair and blood that the U.S. had obtained  had “tested positive” for sarin. He added that Assad has now “joined the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein” in using chemical weapons against his own people.

Osborne stated, “I can share with you today that blood and hair samples that have come to us through an appropriate chain of custody, from east Damascus, from first responders, it has tested positive for signatures of sarin.”

According to the French report, Assad has more than 1,000 tons of poison gas. His stockpile includes not only sarin and Yperite, but VX, the most toxic nerve agent that exists. Another report stated that Assad has missiles capable of reaching 300 miles with the gas on board.

Agents employed by the Direction Generale de la Securité Exterieure and the Direction du Renseignement Militaire filed the report. One French source said, “We have had the Syrian chemical weapons in our sights for more than 25 years.”

Assad reportedly bought the chemicals using companies with a fake name, claiming it was for legitimate purposes, then used them in poison gas canisters fired from Grad rockets. Assad then destroyed them in an artillery barrage to get rid of the evidence.
