Thousands Demand Mayor of The Hague Resign for Allowing ISIS Rally

The Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS, is taking advantage of the anti-Semitism in Europe to recruit new members to achieve its dream of a worldwide Caliphate. Protests that start as pro-Palestine slip into violent ant-Israel rallies, and it is a perfect environment for the Islamic State to spread its hate. The latest anti-Israel protest occurred in the Netherlands as the Islamic State waved its black flag.

The crowd screamed, “Death to the Jews!” and tried to relate to the Muslim boys as a way to recruit them into jihad.

“We are Moroccans,” one man yelled, according to The Daily Beast. “The French killed the Moroccans but they didn’t kill them all; the grandchildren of the few men left protest against the West, America and the Jews.”

This was not a spontaneous rally, though. The Daily Beast reports:

All rallies in Dutch municipalities require permission from the local city council, the police and the public prosecutor’s office. The ISIS demo had been granted permission on the grounds that it was in support of the detained Dutch recruiter for jihad, Oussama Abu Yazeed. But the fact that the mayor’s office in The Hague either was unaware the rally was ISIS-linked or deemed it legitimate regardless has raised serious questions about the city council’s judgment.

One man in the Dutch government did speak out against the rally. Labor Party member Ahmed Marcouch, who is part Moroccan, was disturbed that videos showed young boys at the rally and told Muslims to condemn the Islamic State.

“What are these kids doing there in the first place?” he told The Daily Beast. “ISIS is pure barbarism, it is bloodthirsty. We can’t allow them to win our children away from us.”

“The greatest insult of ISIS may even be toward the Muslims and Islam itself,” he said. “I call on the Muslim community: Stand up and don’t allow your religion to be hijacked by these idiots.” He added, “Don’t make light of them, but make yourself strong against them, these barbaric criminals. Muslims have to speak out: ‘Not in my name! Stay away from my faith!'”

The Hague’s Mayor Jozias van Aartsen said the Islamic State did nothing wrong at the protest, but now residents demand his resignation since laws were broken. The residents started a petition and said, “We do not accept calls for genocide.” They also claimed they do not want a mayor who hears these statements and does not uphold the law. At the rally, journalists were threatened, and protesters covered their faces and screamed racist statements such as, “Hamas, Hamas, all Jews to the gas.” All three are against the law, and residents are not thrilled the police did not arrest anyone. Videos were handed over to the Public Prosecution Authority to investigate if the protesters committed any crimes.

“If that is the case, we will not hesitate to act. It looks like we are hiding from this problem, but that is not the case,” said a spokesman.
