March 4 (UPI) — Netflix has announced it renewed its Little House on the Prairie re-boot for a second season ahead of its Season 1 premiere on July 9.

“I’m incredibly grateful to our wonderful cast and crew, who put their hearts and hard work into making our first season come alive,” showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine said Tuesday in a press release.

“We can’t wait to share this new adaptation of the Little House books with the world, and we’re thrilled that Netflix is giving us the opportunity to continue the story.”

The cast includes Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls, Skywalker Hughes as Laura’s older sister, Mary, Luke Bracey as Pa/Charles and Crosby Fitzgerald as Ma/Caroline.

Filmed in Canada, the show is based on the classic American frontier novels by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The original TV series aired from 1974 to 1983.

The Ingalls family are on their way. Little House on the Prairie premieres July 9 and the series has been officially renewed for Season 2!
