June 23 (UPI) — Sky TV released the first teaser for its new supernatural thriller, Possession, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Jonny Lee Miller, on Monday.
The minute-long preview shows Mbatha-Raw being warned to “stay away from that house.”
“You don’t like it here,” she later tells a clearly unsettled Miller.
“It’s not my cup of tea,” he admits.
Created by Something Very Bad is Going to Happen scribe Karla Crome, the five-part drama takes place in Jamaica and Bristol, England. Sheldon Shepherd and Bel Powley co-star.
“Claudia (Mbatha-Raw), an ambitious young bi‑racial lawyer, travels to Jamaica to challenge an inheritance claim made by a local man, Cudjoe East (Shepherd), against Oliver Connaught (Miller), a wealthy white aristocrat,” a synopsis said.
“But the case takes an unsettling turn when Claudia discovers that the disputed estate is the very place that has haunted her nightmares: Hope Hill, the Connaught family’s former plantation,” the summary continued. “As Claudia and Oliver dig deeper, they uncover a disturbing link between the plantation’s brutal past and the injustices still shaping the present.”
No premiere date has been announced yet.
