NEW YORK, Aug. 19 (UPI) — Life-sized nude statues of a poorly-endowed Donald Trump were installed without authorization Thursday in five U.S. cities, including New York.
The statues, designed by an artist named Joshua “Ginger” Monroe for “anonymous artist collective” INDECLINE’s “The Emperor Has No Balls” campaign, were discovered Thursday morning in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.
The statues were made in the exaggerated likeness of the Republican presidential nominee and businessman, with some creative license taken in private areas of his body that remain a mystery to the public.
“It is through these sculptures that we leave behind the physical and metaphorical embodiment of the ghastly soul of one of America’s most infamous and reviled politicians,” INDECLINE said in a statement provided to the BBC.
“Like it or not, Trump is a larger-than-life figure in world culture at the moment,” an INDECLINE spokesman told The Washington Post. “Looking back in history, that’s how those figures were memorialized and idolized in their time — with statues.”
The group posted a video to YouTube showing how the statues were created and installed.
Cleveland was the first city to have their Trump statue taken down, with New York following close behind.
The New York City Parks Department representative Sam Biederman issued a statement that made a sly reference to the statue’s missing testicles and underwhelming penis.
“NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small,” the statement said.
