Putin congratulates Armenia protest leader on election as PM

Moscow (AFP) – Russia’s president Valdimir Putin congratulated Armenian protest leader Nikol Pashinyan on his election as the Moscow-allied Caucasus country’s prime minister, the Kremlin said on Tuesday. 

“I hope that your activity as the head of the government will contribute to the further strengthening of friendly, allied relations between our countries,” Putin said in a statement published by the Kremlin.
