Feb. 21 (UPI) — Reality TV star Snooki Polizzi has announced she was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer, but is optimistic about beating it.
“Obviously, not the news I’ve been hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God!” the 38-year-old Jersey Shore alum said in an Instagram video Friday.
Polizzi also encouraged women to keep up with their checkups and pap smears.
“I just went and did it,” she said.
“And it was there, cancer is there. But it’s Stage 1 and it’s curable,” she added. “So, get your appointments done, bitches! I’m telling you!”
