WAM Abu Dhabi, May 23rd, 2012 (WAM)–The winners of the 2012 L’Officiel Arab Woman Awards were last night announced at a glittering ceremony attended by over 400 females at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi.




A celebration of achievements, the L’Officiel Arab Woman Awards commemorated Arab women’s accomplishments in the fields of business, arts, charity, fashion and philanthropy, with winners including; Entrepreneur, Asma Abdulla Abduljalil Al Fahim and Humanitarian, Azza Sulaiman.




The ultimate award for the Most Inspirational Arab Woman was presented to Sarah Ibrahim Shuhail for her work in Ewa’a, a shelter for woman and children who are victims of human trafficking.




Executive Director of Ewa’a, Sarah helped in setting up the shelter since its beginning. Truly honoured to have received the award, she said "it has been a challenging experience as it’s the first shelter of its kind in the region." "In saying this, the team and I have managed to achieve successful milestones, which have been highly regarded by different countries and regions internationally".




Pleased to have celebrated with L’Officiel and recognise the great achievements of each Arab woman, sponsors of the event included title sponsors, Maserati, and luxury brand Swarovski.
