June 29 (UPI) — President Donald Trump will deliver remarks Friday celebrating the six-month anniversary of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
The event is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. EDT.
The White House said more than 200 Americans “positively impacted by this successful legislative accomplishment” will attend.
The tax overhaul, proposed in November and enacted Jan. 1, was created to reduce tax rates for businesses and individuals by repealing part of the Affordable Care Act and amending the Internal Revenue Code.
Last week, the White House called the first major overhaul of the tax code since 1986 a “celebration” for American workers.
At the event, Trump is also expected to address the deadly shooting at the Capital Gazette Thursday.
