Nancy Pelosi Claims Prime Minister Netanyahu Made Her Cry

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi expressed disapproval of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech before Congress on Tuesday. In fact, she said she was “near tears.”

As Paul Kane of The Washington Post tweeted, she left while Netanyahu was still accepting congratulations for his speech:

Then Pelosi decided to release a statement, dripping with vitriol, to attack the stalwart foe of Iran’s incipient nuclear capability. In part, her statement said:

That is why, as one who values the U.S–Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech–saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.

This is not the first time Pelosi has shed tears when someone has stood up to President Obama; in 2009, she shed tears when describing the right wing and their ill treatment of her friend.

Pelosi’s hypocrisy seems to know no bounds: mocking John Boehner for crying in 2010, she said, “If I cry, it’s about the personal loss of a friend or something like that. But when it comes to politics–no, I don’t cry.”
