Rubio: My Doctrine Is That US Is ‘Indispensable Power’

Senator and presidential candidate Marco Rubio (R-FL) declared the “Rubio Doctrine” would be that the US is the “indispensable power on the planet” in an interview broadcast on Monday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

Rubio stated, “the Rubio Doctrine would be that the United States is the — indispensable power on the planet. In the absence of American leadership, the result is a vacuum, that vacuum is filled by chaos. So, for example, we need to be involved in the Asia-Pacific region, we need to reinvigorate our alliances with South Korea, and Japan, and the Philippines, and others, to blunt some of the aggression you now see from Russia — China, on their territorial claims. In Western Europe, we need reinvigorate NATO, to once again stop the — sort of — Putin’s efforts to re-litigate the end of the Cold War.”
