An Ohio woman who was listening to an Amber Alert on the radio was shocked to find that the car that police were looking for was right in front of her as she was driving down the road, a report says.

Police in Tennessee had issued an Amber Alert for 2-year-old Brooklynne Emerie Enix, who was reported missing when police discovered the child’s mother dead in her Knoxville home on October 28.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation determined that it was possible that the child’s father, 36-year-old Tyler Enix, may have taken the child, so an Amber Alert was issued for information on the whereabouts of the man. Police also suspect that Enix was responsible for the woman’s murder.

Enix, WMC TV reported, has previous arrests for domestic assault, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault.

The suspect was driving a black Chevy Impala with Tennessee plates, according to the alert.

The alert went out to surrounding states, and that is when a woman in Murrow County, near Columbus in north-central Ohio, was listening to the radio while driving. She immediately realized that she was driving right behind the car described on the Amber Alert broadcast.

The woman quickly called 911 and gave police minute-to-minute updates of just where she and Enix were on the road until police showed up to pull the wanted man over.

The child was discovered unharmed in the car with the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Morrow County Sheriff Steven R. Brenneman praised the alert citizen saying, “Divine timing I guess. She kept level headed, followed it, gave us everything we needed.”

Sheriff Brenneman reported that an extradition hearing for Tyler Enix will likely be held on Friday.
