Marco Rubio to Home-State Florida for Super Tuesday Election Night Rally

Sen. Marco Rubio has announced plans for a rally in Miami, Florida, on Super Tuesday, as he will likely suffer losses in multiple states to his rival Donald Trump when voters in 13 states cast their ballots in the presidential primary.

Rather than advertising a “victory rally,” the campaign is promoting the rally in his home state as a “Florida Kick-Off Rally,” according to their schedule.

It is unclear whether Rubio will win any of the Super Tuesday states, as recent polling shows Trump leading the Florida Senator in most of the Southern states casting their ballots.

Sen. Ted Cruz is hoping to hold a lead in his home state of Texas, giving him a second victory after beating Trump in Iowa.

The Rubio campaign hopes to compete in states like Minnesota and Virginia, but his attention to Florida shows it is a must-win state for his campaign.

On Super Tuesday, the campaign hopes to earn some delegates in the states where delegates are shared among the leading-vote-getters. Rubio was campaigning in Virginia on Sunday, holding four campaign rallies across the state. He will spend Monday holding rallies in Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. On Tuesday, Rubio will also host a caucus-day rally in Andover, MN.

Then, over the next two weeks, Rubio will make a final push to win Florida and other delegate-rich, winner-take-all states in the March 15 primaries.
