During a May 7 speech in Lynden, Washington, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump looked at the audience and said, “Hillary Clinton wants to take your guns.”

Trump stressed that Clinton’s plan is not simply to pass more gun control but to “abolish the Second Amendment” altogether.

According to CNN, Trump said, “Hillary Clinton wants to abolish the Second Amendment.” Pressing the point further, he declared, “Hillary Clinton wants to take your guns away and she wants to abolish the Second Amendment.”

He said Clinton’s anti-gun positions are so extreme that she will even seek new controls on purchasing ammunition.

Trump pledged that he will approach the Second Amendment in a completely opposite fashion, saying, “We’re going to cherish the Second Amendment, we’re going to take care of the Second Amendment.”

Breitbart News previously reported that Clinton has pledged to use executive action to exceed what President Obama has done on gun control. The specific controls proposed by her to date include extending the instant background checks indefinitely by changing the amount of time the FBI has on extended checks, placing more regulations on sales at gun shows and guns sold online, allowing crime victims to sue gun manufacturers and gun sellers, and expanding the definition of domestic violence to include dating relationships–then using that expanded definition to ban individuals from owning guns. She has also said the Australian gun ban was “worth looking at” for gun policy in the U.S.

Trump is a concealed carry permit holder and a Lifetime member of the NRA who believes an armed citizenry is a deterrent to high profile shooters and terrorists. During a January 10 appearance on Meet The Press Trump said armed citizens remind bad guys that “bullets go both ways.”
