MLB will build it, and they will come.
Now, that we got the obligatory Field of Dreams opening line out of the way, the Yankees and the White Sox are going to play on the site of the actual Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, next season.
The game will be played on August 13, 2020. For those of you wondering how MLB plans to pull this off with only the small set of bleachers that little Karin Kinsella fell from during the hot dog choking scene? Fear not, MLB is going to begin construction on an 8,000-seat temporary ballpark this month.
Predictably, and awesomely, MLB announced the game with a video of the Yankees’ Aaron Judge asking Kevin Costner’s character,Ray Kinsella, “Hey, is this Heaven?” Spoiler alert, Kinsella responds, “No, it’s Iowa.”

MLB has showcased the Yankees frequently during recent special events. Earlier this season, the Yankees and the Red Sox played the first MLB game in London.
