The NFL has joined a growing list of other sports reacting to the coronavirus by canceling its spring meeting.
The annual meeting, scheduled for The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, starting on May 19, is usually where the league gets together to consider changes to rules for the coming season.

But with the nation beginning to take stock over the spread of the virus, the NFL jumped in to cancel the meeting, according to Pro Football Talk.
The NFL is only one of a large number of sports leagues making major decisions to prevent spread of the dreaded virus.
On Thursday both the NHL and MLB announced changes to their schedules.

And pro baseball canceled its remaining spring training games.

The NFL, NHL, and MLB joined the NCAA announced that all “Power 5” leagues had cancelled conference tournaments. The NBA also suspended the season due to fears over the virus. And the NCAA noted that March Madness games would be played without fans in the stands.
Many other leagues and sports are considering similar moves to deal with the virus.
