Athens stock market down 3.6%, bank index plunges 7.3%

The Athens stock market sank 3.6 percent in early trading on Thursday, with the banking index plunging 7.3 percent over concern about the state of the Greek economy.

The stock market has been under pressure since the publication on Sunday of ECB stress tests of eurozone banks which found that two Greek banks were short of capital.
