The Bay Area’s creeping gentrification has made its way to places of worship and is now affecting Oakland’s black churches, a fixture and bedrock of the community there for nearly 75 years.

Tennessee Theater Attacker Used Hatchet, Pepper Spray, Airsoft Gun

The attacker who allegedly wounded three people at the Carmike Hickory 8 Cinema in Antioch, Tennessee, theater on August 5 was armed with a hatchet, peppery spray, an airsoft gun, and a suspicious package which turned out to be a “hoax device.”

Over 30 People Sickened at Northern California Water Park

So many people people visited the Antioch Water park on Thursday afternoon to escape the heat and the drought that when chemicals in the water went awry, over 30 people complained of sickness, prompting the arrival of emergency crews.
