Computing giant Dell reportedly plans to phase out all computer chips made by China by 2024. The company is also informing suppliers that they should shift their production out of China — or risk losing Dell as a customer.

The Chinese communist party has reportedly ordered all government offices and public institutions to remove any foreign computer equipment and software over the course of the next three years. This includes products from U.S. companies like HP, Dell, and Microsoft.

Major tech manufacturers including HP, Dell, Amazon, and Microsoft are all considering moving a portion of their production out of China as a result of the trade war between Washington and Beijing.

U.S. tech companies including Dell, IBM, and HP are reportedly concerned that China may be spying on them through power cords and plugs manufactured in the country.
