Occidental Student Protesters End Occupation

Student protesters at Occidental College have ended their six-day occupation of the school’s Arthur G. Coons Administrative Center building. And they have vowed to continue their fight against alleged racial bias at the privately-funded liberal arts institution.

Stanford Band, Banned: No Road Trips Next Season

On Friday, Stanford University banned the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band (LSJUMB) from performing at any athletic events held away from the university for one year because of the band’s recent history of the use of alcohol and controlled substances as well as hazing.

Watchdog Groups Call for Protection of Jewish Students Following Swastika ‘Hate Crime’ at Stanford

Twenty-six anti-Semitism watchdog groups issued a joint letter to Stanford University President John Hennessy, lauding him for condemning the vandalism of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house which was defaced with swastikas this past weekend, and imploring him to take additional steps to protect Jewish students on campus; particularly with the rise of antisemitism throughout many college campuses in California and especially through the strengthening of BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) movements targeting Israel.

Stanford Student Files Complaint after Jewish Faith Questioned

A junior at Stanford University has filed an official complaint after being questioned about whether her Jewish faith would affect her ability to serve in the student Senate. The allegedly antisemitic incident is the second such recent case in California, coming a month after UCLA’s student council questioned a candidate for student office about her Jewish faith.

Students Wave Palestinian Flag on Bay Bridge During Shutdown

Dozens of self-identifying Stanford students were arrested on Monday night after they shut down the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge in a “#blacklivesmatter” protest against alleged police brutality and oppression.
