Parler, the free speech-friendly social network that bills itself as an alternative to mainstream Silicon Valley platforms, condemned Facebook for shutting down organizers of anti-quarantine protests in the U.S.

“Facebook’s definition of good citizenship appears to include restricting people’s right to free speech, protest government policy, and assemble freely,” said Parler in a press release.

“Zuckerberg seems to think Facebook’s role as a social network is to destroy the Bill of Rights and replace it with Facebook’s Terms of Service.”

“Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg demonstrate a disturbing pattern of extreme words to demonize and dehumanize others in order to justify their digital inquisition. For a platform that claims to be a social network and aims for responsible citizenship, Facebook uses labels like ‘dangerous individuals’ and purveyors of ‘harmful misinformation’ to vilify Americans in a twisted and Machiavellian way.”

Republican congressional candidate Laura Loomer, who operates the most popular account on Parler and was smeared and banned by Facebook as a “dangerous individual” (a label she is contesting as defamatory in court) also condemned the social network’s recent move.

“I find Facebook’s most recent actions of banning peaceful protesters to be absolutely tyrannical. This is yet another form of evidence of Mark Zuckerberg’s desire to override constitutional law and human liberties in America and replace it with tech tyranny.”

“There’s no reason for anybody who opposes tech tyranny to keep posting on Facebook and Twitter,” said Loomer, who encouraged President Donald Trump and other elected officials to join free-speech friendly platforms like Parler.

“Instead they should work to destabilize those companies financially by getting on sites like Parler and Gab which promote free speech and promote healthy debate and discussion without suppressing people’s rights and liberties.”

“When I’m in Congress, I will be posting and communicating with my constituents on Parler, and I encourage all elected officials Who care about upholding Principles of liberty and freedom to do the same.”
