New Black Panthers Leader Arrested for Gun Possession

The chief of staff of the New Black Panther Party, Hashim Nzinga, was arrested on a weapons charge Tuesday in DeKalb County in Georgia on Monday. Nzinga was arrested with an FN Herstal 5.7 x 28 handgun on his person; he had been convicted already last month for felony deposit account fraud. Coincidentally, Nzinga appeared on CNN this wek to announce that the New Black Panthers were offering a $10,000 reward for George Zimmerman’s capture – Zimmerman being the shooter in the Trayvon Martin case. The New Black Panthers have also called for mobilization of 10,000 men to hunt down Zimmerman. Khallid Abdul Muhammad, the group’s founder, said of Zimmerman, “He should be fearful for his life.”

Where is President Obama when you need him?

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks racism of all kinds, calls the New Black Panthers “a virulently racist and anti-Semitic organization whose leaders have encouraged violence against whites, Jews and law enforcement officers.”  The SPLC says that the New Black Panthers believe black Americans should form their own nation.

And yet no word from the White House about this outbreak of racist violence. The New Black Panthers are highly credible in their threats – and yet no investigation has been initiated into their threats by the Department of Justice. That’s no surprise – the DOJ also fought against prosecution of the New Black Panthers after they engaged in obvious voter intimidation at polls in Philadelphia during the 2008 election cycle.

President Obama recently called for a full investigation of the Trayvon Martin situation. That full investigation should include investigation into the activities of the New Black Panthers, who are encouraging and incentivizing violence against American citizens.
