IRS Employees Told to Preserve Records
On Tuesday, Eliana Johnson of National Review reported that the Internal Revenue Service is locking down all computer data. On Thursday, IRS employees were sent an email telling them to preserve all data on their computers: “This is a late breaking top priority and things could change in the future.”
The IRS said it would not toss any old laptops or computers, and informed employees they should not “wipe, re-image or otherwise destroy any hard drives.”
The IRS is conducting an internal investigation into the agency’s targeting of conservative non-profits. So are two House committees and the Senate Finance Committee.
