GOP's Schock, Webster, and McCarthy Identified as Vulnerable on Immigration

ABC/Univision specifically mentioned three Republican Congressmen who may be on the fence and vulnerable to pressure to support a comprehensive form of immigration reform and a pathway to citizenship for the country’s 11 million illegal immigrants.

One candidate to watch is Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL), who has “indicated he would back a pathway if several preconditions are met, including a 90 percent apprehension rate of illegal border crossers and allowing local law enforcement to help crack down on illegal immigration.”

Another is Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL). Breitbart News reported Schock claimed a majority of House Republicans back the House’s version of the DREAM Act. He has also indicated he could back a path to citizenship for all illegal immigrants if preconditions are met and they go “to the back of the line.”

The third Representative named is Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who has backed the House’s version of the DREAM Act and is being pressured to support a pathway to citizenship of all of the country’s illegal immigrants.
