Report: Former VA Dem Gov Candidate Stabbed, Son Dead from Gunshot Wound

Creigh Deeds, a Democrat Virginia state senator who lost to Republican Bob McDonnell in the 2009 gubernatorial election, is reportedly in critical condition after having been stabbed in his home.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported on Tuesday that “his son Gus is dead from a gunshot wound,” and “Deeds is being treated at the University of Virginia Medical Center.”

According to the publication, “authorities said they are trying to determine the sequence of events at the Deeds home in Bath County early today.”
