On July 31, a Holmes Beach, Florida, woman facing home invaders in the middle of the afternoon told them to drop the gun, adding that she would drop hers once police arrived.
According to My Fox Tampa Bay, NJ Logan was home alone around 2:30 p.m. when she heard “a commotion” downstairs. She listened intently, and after ascertaining that her husband was not the cause of the noise, she retrieved her handgun.
“Honestly, all I wanted was my gun,” she said.
Logan “yelled out warnings” to the suspects as she headed downstairs. She then called 911 and could be heard saying, “Put down the gun and I’ll put [my] gun down when I see the police,” and the suspects fled.
Holmes Beach Police Chief William Tokajer said, “I think it’s a wake up call to any would-be burglar.”
