Angelina Jolie Open to Political Future

Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie routinely uses her celebrity to draw attention to causes that don't fall along easy ideological divides.

Her work as a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, for example, spotlighted the plight of Syrian refugees without embracing partisan lables.

Asked on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday whether she’d ever considering running for office, the human rights advocate replied, “You know, if I thought I’d be effective, I would.”

"But I’m not sure if I would ever be taken seriously in that way, and be able to be effective,” the Oscar winner added.

Jolie previously dismissed the idea in years past, saying she had to many too “skeletons” in her closet — but that seems to have changed.

“I wonder if by now if my skeletons are out,” Jolie laughed. “They’re probably all out.
