US Vice President Joe Biden Friday called Sudan's Vice President Ali Osman Taha to express concern over the security of the US embassy in Khartoum as anti-US riots sweep the Muslim world.

"Vice President Biden reaffirmed the responsibility of the Government of Sudan to protect diplomatic facilities and stressed the need for the government of Sudan to ensure the protection of diplomats in Khartoum," a White House statement said.
