Man Stabs Boss During Job Interview: Apprehended by Resume

A San Diego-area man allegedly stabbed the boss he would have potentially worked for during his job interview Monday afternoon.

According to NBC San Diego, Jose Lopez was drunk when he went in for a job interview at 207 South Sunshine Avenue. After the interviewer smelled alcohol on Lopez’s breath, he questioned the applicant, who reportedly became angry and confrontational. An altercation broke out, during which the applicant was placed in a headlock by the business owner.

Lopez was apparently able to escape the chokehold and stab the boss in the arm before fleeing the office. However, Lopez left behind his job application, which contained his full name and address. El Cajon police used the application to track down Lopez at his home later that day.

The boss was reportedly being treated for a minor stab wound at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. Lopez was booked into San Diego County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
